Dr Jijo P. Ulahannan is currently the Head of the Department of Physics at Government College Kasaragod. He is a postgraduate in Physics from Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam and a PhD from the Cochin University of Science & Technology. His interests are in theoretical and computational physics, education, science communication, open data & information science, and education technology.

He has been a TED Fellow since 2009. He was a Short Term Visitor Fellow at the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education at TIFR Mumbai.  He has been a member of a few curriculum development committees and text book development committees at the state school and higher education. He has expertise in developing online learning platforms from scratch. He is the author of two books and contributed a chapter each to two other books.
